Introduction to Cardiac Cath Lab

Upon completion of this program, the learner will be able to:

• Recognize & evaluate normal sinus and abnormal rhythms.
• Assess and evaluate patient during the pre-procedure, intraprocedure, and post-procedure phases of care.
• Identification and evaluation of hemodynamic waveforms. Interpretation of waveforms to identify pathological conditions.
• Evaluate left heart cath findings and determine appropriate interventions for treatment.
• Describe diagnostic and intervention equipment used during a heart catheterization.
• Distinguish between RAO, LAO, Cranial, and Caudal Projections and determine angles to optimally define coronary anatomy.
• Identify types of contrast used and describe precautions for renal impaired patients.
• Identify intra procedure and post procedure groin management and patient assessment for heart catheterization patients.
